Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion, explained whether there were factors beyond Rafael Nadal's dominance that contributed to his only winning at Roland Garros once until 2016.
Djokovic stated, as reported by Tennis 🍌Majorꦉ citing RTS:
Every time you walk on that court there with him, he is the favorite. Even at the Olympics, he had injury trouble, I was in better form, but still, you know it’s the highest mountain to climb. He is the biggest, perhaps the only reason why I don’t have more Roland-Garros titles, but I say – every win against him there is worth double.
Djokovic holds the record for the most titles in men's singles tennis. Nadal ranks second with 22 Grand Slam titles, followed by Roger 💞Federer with 20.
Previously, Djokovic mentioned how winning at the 2024 Olympics in Paris would be particula൩rly special for him.
