UFC President Dana White commented on the outcome of the heavyweight rematch between Russian fighter Alexander Volkov and French fighter Ciryl Gane at UFC 310.

So hereâs what happened after that fight, you heard the booâs, I went over to Volkov, I apologized to him, I thought he won the fight. And then the head of the commission came over and said, âListen, we feel like that second round was really close and couldâve gone either way both guys got rockedâ, I canât remember which (fighter) they thought had the worst of it in the second round but, you know. I had a problem with the (Bryan) Battle fight too. It doesnât f***ing matter what I think, it really doesnât because at the end of the day, they decide who wins and loses, not us.
Recall that Volkov lost to Gane by split decision. Following the announcement of the results, the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas erupted in discontent. The first matchup between the fighters took place in June 2021 at UFC Fight Nighę§t 190, ending in a unanimous decision victory for Gane. Volkov now holds a record of 38 wins and 10 losses, while Gane has 13 wins and 2 losses.
