The current UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, commented on a possible fight against the middleweight champion, Dricus du Plessis.
Pereira told MMAJunkie:
Dricus is definitely an easier fight than fighting Jon Jones. I think making weight will be harder than fighting Dricus... I've expressed interest many times, but he never replies.
It's worth noting that on October 5, Pereira will fight Khalil Rouꦍntree at UFC 307 in Salt Lake City.
Pereira last stepped into the octagon in June 2024 at UFC 303, where he won against Jiri Prochazka by technicไal knockout in the second round. He holds a record of 11 wins and 2 losses.
