PFL CEO Peter Murray has said that regardless of the outcome of his boxing fight with Anthony Joshua, Francis Ngannou will have his next MMA fight.
Peter Murray
Yeah, heās got a big fight coming up now with AJ, so weāre really proud and happy for Francis, but he will be returning to the cage later this year after the Joshua fight. Francis is committed to the PFL. Heās committed to continuing competing in MMA, so we donāt expect that.
Recall, the Ngannoušŗ and Joshua fight will headline a nightź¦ of boxing to be held on March 8 in Saudi Arabia.
Ngannou made his professional ring debut in October 2023. He had a bošut against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. In that fight, Francis was defeated by a split decision of the judges.
Joshua last stepped into the ring against Otto Wallin in December 2023 in Saudi Arabia. That fight, which was stopped in the fifth round, ended in favor of Anthony by technical knockout. He has 27 wins (24 by knockout) and three defeats on his recordź¦.
