Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor from Ireland has commented on the cancellation of his upcoming fight against American fighter Michael Chandler. Chandler has previously announced that he will face Charles Oliveira in a rematch on November 17 at UFC 309.
McGregor stated ൩at a press conference after ꦏthe BKFC tournament:
As far as Chandler rematching Oliveira, I'm happy with the date. It's November. Maybe we can still do it after, if they're not going to line me up until December, maybe January or February, one of these dates. All I can do is carry on doing what I’m doing. I test under the testing administration, I train daily, and that’s it. Let’s see what happens. Hopefully it all comes to fruition.
The f♎irst fight between Chandler and Oliveira took place in May 2021 at UFC 262, where Oliveira won by technical knockout in the second round.
Chandler last fought Dustin Poirier in November 2022 at UFC 281. In that fight, which ended in theඣ third round, Michael lost via submission. His professional record includes 23 wins and eight losses.
Oliveira last stepped into the octagon against Arman Tsarukyan in April this year at U🔯FC 300. That fight went the full distance and ended with a loss for Charles by split decision. Oliveira’s record stands at 34 wins, 10 losses and one no contest.
