UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones shared how he prepared the spinning kick that knocked out Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 309.
Jones said at the press conference:
About six months ago we started training the spinning back-kick. My taekwondo coach would come over to my house, we trained that same kick three hours a week for several months. Bruce Lee says he doesn't fear the man that knows 10,000 kicks, but the man who has worked one kick 10,000 times. I worked it and it was a devastating shot.
Jones faced Miocic on November 17 in the main event of UFC 309 in 🐼New Yor🧸k City. The fight was stopped in the third round, and Jon secured a technical knockout victory, retaining his UFC heavyweight title.
Jones' mixed martia❀l arts record stands at 28 wins and one loss, with another fight ruled a no contest. Miocic has a record of 20 victories and five defeats.
