Ferguson Talks About Possible Retirement If He Loses To Pimblett

Former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has responded to a question about possibly ending his career if he loses to Paddy Pimblett.

The fight between Fergu💧son and Pimblett will take place on December 16 at UFC 296.

In an interview with ESPN, Ferguson said:

I don’t want to retire, it’s not in my f*cking thought process. It’s not about getting cut. It’s not about doing all this stuff. It’s about competing. And what I did was I started competing without; one—having fun, and two—really giving 100 percent into my training. I thought I did, but that means I have to be coachable. I have to be a student again. I have to ask for help.

Ferguson, 39, last fought against Bobby Green in July 2023 at UFC 29♋1. In that confrontation, Tony was defeated in the third round by technical submission (arm triangle choke). He has 25 wins and nine losses on his record.

The next UFC 294 event wil🌃l take place on October 21 in Abu Dhabi. The main event will feature Russian fighter Islam Makhachev and Brazilian Charles Oliveira.
