Ferguson Accuses Green Of Intentional Eye Poke At UFC 291

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson commented on his social media regarding his loss to Bobby Green at UFC 291, which took place on July 30 in Salt Lake City (USA).

Recall, Green defeated Ferguson with a third-round submission (arm🗹 triangle).

Tony Ferguson on his Instagram
As the fight began, I was in the Xone, flowing & feeling confident. Bobby knew the direction of the fight & I believe he knew what he was doing when he poked my eye. He has a big History of moves like this. It significantly impaired my vision, making it difficult to see clearly out of my eye. Despite this eye poke, I never considered stopping the fight. Although the doc wanted to. Throughout my career, I’ve always pushed through challenges & never given up. This time was no different.

Ferguson, 39, lost to Nate Di𝓀az at UFC 279 by fourth-round choke in September 2022. He has 25 wins and nine losses under his belt.

Green, 36, had his previous fight against Jared Gordon in April 2023 at UFC Fight Night 222. That fight was stopped in the first rꦉound and was ruled a no contest due to an accidental clash of heads. Bobby has ♏30 wins, 14 losses and one draw.
