The American football club Inter Miami has officially announced the appointment of 40-year-old Javier Mascherano as the new head coach of the team.
Previously, Mascherano led the Argentina U-20 national team. He succeeds Gerardꦆo Martino at Inter Mi🔯ami.
I🦩nterest in Mascherano's candidacy became known o🐈n November 25. Reports also suggested that Xavi Hernandez was considered for the head coach position.
During his playing career, Mascherano was a member of FC Barcelona. Curr🌳ently, several former Barcelona playe🧸rs are part of the Inter Miami roster, including Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suárez, and Jordi Alba.
In the 2024 season, the club finished first in the Easter🌞n Conference, earning 74 points in 3ꦆ4 matches, but lost to Atlanta United in the Round of 16 in a best-of-three series (1-2).
