Here are three of the eight participants who made it:

Aryna Sabalenka made the WTA Finals as the Seꦜcond-ranked player. Aryna bagged two titles this year, one in Abu Dhabi and the other in Madrid. She had a hard time in French Open after getting upset by Anastasia Pavlyuchenko, however, she got a big chance to notch her first Grand Slam title when she reached the Semis of the US Open. But teenager Leylah Fernandez ended her journey there. Aryna lost in the Quarterfinals of the Kremlin Cup, the last tournament she played. This is going to be her debut in the WTA Finals.

Barbora Krejcikova won her first singles Grand Slam title this year when she bagged the French Open finals. She lost to Barty in the fourth round of Wimbledon but then captured another title in Prague. She lost in the quarterfinals of the Cincinna෴ti and US Open.

Karolina Pliskova had to battle it out this year as one of the favorites t▨o win a Grand Slam title. She lost the final in Rome to Iga Swiatek 6-0, 6-0. She pieced a stellar Wimbledon campaign before losing to Ashleigh Barಞty in the Finals. She lost to Maria Sakkari in the quarterfinals of the US Open.
