South African track and field athlete, 800 and 1500 meter runner and two-time Olympic champion in 2012 and 2016 Caster Semenya has won an appeal at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
The 32-year-old athlete won her case against the banning of athletes with incre🦋ased testosterone levels from participating in major world tournaments, AFP reports.
Earlier, the World Athletics Assoc𒐪iation said that in order to get to international competitions the athletes with inಌcreased levels of the hormone in their blood must artificially reduce it. According to Semenya, these rules are unacceptable and discriminatory.
