On Sunday, August 4, the men's 100-meter race at the 2024 Olympics in Paris concluded with a remarkable milestone: all competitors finished in under 10 seconds.
American sprinter Noah Lyles won the gold medal, finishing with a time of 9.784 seconds, 🗹just edging out 23-year-old Jamaican athlete Kishane Thompson, who clocked in at 9.789 seconds based on photo finish results. The bronze medal went to American Fred Kerley with a time of 9.81 seconds.
It’s notewortꦓhy that the last runner to finish in this even𓄧t was another Jamaican sprinter, Oblique Seville, who achieved a time of 9.91 seconds.
This marks the first time in Olympic history that all eight athletesඣ in the men’s 100m final finished in less than 10 seconds.
