Brazilian heavyweight Renan Ferreira has commented on his defeat to Cameroonian fighter Francis Ngannou at the PFL: Battle of the Giants tournament, which took place on the night of October 20 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Ngannou claimed victory 💎over Ferreira by knockout i✱n the first round, earning the special PFL Superfight title belt.
Ferreira said in a video posted on social media:
Unfortunately, my opponent was superi♋or. He managed to impose a game where that I couldn’t defend the takedowns, which led to very hard ground-and-pound to get through. And that’s it, life goes on, we’ll be back. I want to thank everyone for all the love and support, we’re always together. Hugs.
Ferreira last fought in February 2024 at a joint PFL and Bellator event, where he defeated Ryan Bader꧂ by technical knockout in the first round. His record now stands at 13 wins and 4 losses, with three bouts ruled no contests.
Ngannou last competed in January 2022 at UFC 270, where he won against Ciryl Gane by unanimous decision.ꦺ His record includes 18 wins and 3 losses.
