English Premier League club Manchester City announced on their official channels that they have won a legal case against the Premier League (EPL).
It's important to note that this case does not relate to the 115 charges against City for violating financial fair play rules, but rather concerns the club's appeal to the Arꦛbitration Tribunal regarding league rules on transactions with associated parties.
According to the club’s statement, their claim to recognize the league's rule🦋s on such transactions as unlawful, along with the nullification of the Premier League’s decisions regarding two specific sponsorship deals, has been fully granted. The justification provided is that the EPL’s rules violate UK laws on economic competition.
The hearings regarding the more 🐻high-profile issue involving the 115 violations began in September 2024. If City are f🎀ound guilty, other EPL clubs will demand the exclusion of the Citizens from the elite division.
ℱAfter seven rounds played in the 2024/2025 EPL season, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City have gained 17 points and currently sit in second place in the league tab🦋le.
