In the World Cup quarterfinal match in Qatar on December 10 France defeated England 2-1.
17 minutes into the match the French opened the scoring: Griezmann sent the ball to Tchouaméni who fired a long-range shot into Pickford's gate corner. In the 54th minute Kane converted a penalty. Giroud netted a goal in the 78th minute for France. Five minutes later, England were awarded an 11-meter penalty following a push to the back by Hernandez, but Kane kicked it over the gate.

Failed penalty: Kane (84).
Thanks to this victory, France advanced to the semifinals of the World Cup, where the team will play against Morocco on December 14 at Al Bayt Stadium.
