Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti is considering moving central defender Eder Militao to the right-back position after Dani Carvajal suffered a serious injury that could sideline him for about 12 months, according to The Athletic.
Ancelotti hoped to reinforce the right-back position during the winter transfer window, but if that doesn't hap꧟pen, he plans to employ Militao and Lucas Vazquez for the role. It was previ💜ously reported that Real Madrid is not actively seeking a replacement for Carvajal, as they have full confidence in Vazquez.
Militao has experience playing as a right-back, having performed in that 🥀position for both São Paulo and Porto, and he has also played a few times on the right side of defense for Real Madrid. Carvajal's injury happened towards the end of a match against Vilꦰlarreal (2-0). He fell on the pitch and cried out in pain following a collision with Yeremi Pino. The Spanish player was unable to leave the field by himself.
Militao is not expected to return to action until at least Oct🐎ober next 🎃year.
