The press office of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) has commented on the ten-second penalty issued to British Formula 1 driver Lando Norris of the McLaren team during the Qatar Grand Prix.
The 25-year-old Englishman received the ten-second penalty during the main race for exceeding the speed limit while under yellow💛 flags. He finished the race in tenth place, 35.762 seconds behind the leader. The victory in Doha went to four-time world champion Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing.
According to the federation, Norris's ඣpenalty aligns with the instructions provided to teams in February 2024. His actions under the yellow♓ flags were deemed a serious breach of safety regulations.
