The head of Queensberry Promotions Frank Warren, who represents Joseph Joyce, announced that the rematch between the British heavyweight and interim WBO heavyweight champion Zhang Zhilei of China will take place on September 23 in London.
Warren hopes that Joyce will take back his belt and face the winner of the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois.
Remember, the first meeting between Joyce and Zhilei, which took place in April, 2023, ended with the victory of Zhang by TKO in the sixth round.
Joyce, 37, fought in September 2022 against Joseph Parker in Manchester. In that confrontation, Joyce won by knockout in the 11th round. He has 15 wins (14 by knockout) and one loss.
Zhilei, 40, in August, 2022, lost to Filip Hrgović by unanimous decision. He has 25 wins (20 KOs), one draw and one loss.
