Vadim Kornilov, the manager of Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol, announced that Bivol’s team has requested a rematch against compatriot Artur Beterbiev.
The Ring quotes Kornilov as saying:
We have formally requested a rematc🐻h and are contesting the decision with all sanctioning bodies. We are also working on the possibility of appealing the judges’ 🀅scorecards, that rated the fight 116-112.
Beterbiev and Bivol faced each other in the ring on October 12 in Saudi Arabia. Their match headlined a boxing event in Riyadh, where Beterbiev won by unanimous decision, 🌳claiming the title of undisputed world champion in the light heavyweight division. This was the first fight where Beterbiev did not secure a knockout victory, and Bivol's first professional loss.
Beterbiev holds a professional boxing record of 21🌜 wins (20 by knockout) and no losses, while Bivol has 23 wins (12 by knockout) and one loss.
